Bunratty Castle & Folk Park

Bunratty Castle, Ireland’s most complete and authentic Castle is a must-see on your Wild Atlantic Way adventure in Ireland. The castle was restored in the 1960s and furnished by Lord Gorts’ historic collection of medieval furniture and furnishings, a visit to Bunratty lets you experience a wonderful opportunity to step back into Ireland’s past and explore this 15th century Castle.

Bunratty Folk Park

This impressive park is set over 26 acres featuring over 30 buildings that make up a working village and rural Irish setting. This 19th Century Folk Park allows you to experience a reconstruction of the lifestyle & environment of Ireland of over a century ago. Country farmhouses, replica village shops and ancient streets have been recreated and styled as they would have appeared at that time. Walk in the shoes of the poorest one-roomed cottage to Bunratty House a perfect sample of a Georgian residence built 1804, known as the home of the Studdarts, the last family to occupy Bunratty Castle.

The houses and shops in the Folk Park were carefully chosen from different areas, to form a collection of typical 19th-century Irish buildings including the Doctor’s house, Grocery, School, Pub, Hardware shop and Post Office to name but a few.

Fairy Trails

The Bunratty Fairy trail and village are located in a magical woodland around this historic landmark. These magical creatures of myth and legend are a key part of Ireland’s history. The mystical creatures inhabiting the little fairy houses have been here for quite a long time, producing a whole new world including the Fairy University, Fairy Library, Fairy Shopping Village and much more in the surroundings of the magical forest trail.

Pa’s Pet Farm

This wonderful Pet Farm allows children and adults alike to learn about these gorgeous animals in a safe environment and a friendly manner. Education and fun come together for an exciting and truly unforgettable experience. No matter the weather, there’s lots of fun to be had. Meet baby lambs, rabbits, ducks, goats, chickens and many more, all under the supervision of expert and friendly farmers.
